Week #50 – Open!- December 14th, 2015

Wow easily one of the best week’s in my whole mission!!

Well the first three days were business as usual. We were on the grind, hitting it hard the first part of the week. We found some sweet people, helping the lords children, and crying our eyes out….. from all of the hot chili’s!!!!

We visited A*** almost everyday. She is so awesome. I don’t know if I told you guys anything about her but she is from Puerto Vallarta (#momanddadhavebeenthere) she’s 14 and she is just really cool. She loves the church and us as missionaries. This week we really put all of our focus on her to help her get baptized Friday.

Friday, we had the Christmas Zone Conference and so we were busy all day with gift exchanges, videos and a dinner. We couldn’t stay for long because we had the baptism of A*** Friday night. So we were in TJ all day for the conference and had to come back at 4 PM to fill up the font and prepare everything. There was a ton of traffic and it was just insane getting back home. It was so crazy! We were making phone calls the whole taxi ride, trying to get things done. We ran out of credits on our phone and didn’t have money to put in more, but then magically, 20 pesos of credit came so we could make two more calls!!! It was just super stressful. The thing about the wards here is the missionaries get the opportunity to lead a lot. We organize activities, invite people to come to ward counsel, organize other meetings and much more. For the baptisms it’s all us! We were making calls for people to talk, everything. ANYWAY, finally we got to the church, literally two minutes before her baptism was about to start. Wow, it was crazy. We were stressing but everything turned out great!! Elder Bracho got to have his first convert and his first baptism! Because Sunday was the dedication of the temple, we confirmed her right there. Normally the Bishop does the confirmations, but he asked me to do it. This was a miracle for the week.

I had never confirmed anyone before, let alone in Spanish! Right as we pulled the chair up and A*** sat down, the bishop asked me to do it. I freaked, but said a quick prayer, and the words came to me. It was a neat experience giving the blessing. Super cool. So Elder Bracho baptized, I confirmed, and she received her temple dedication slip right that moment to go to the temple dedication Sunday!!

SATURDAY we just went to the temple Celebration which was SO COOL! Great time, Pres. Uchtdorf spoke and was accompanied by Elder Oaks.

SUNDAY was the temple dedication. SOOOO SWEET!!! Finally the temple is open! After countless hours, basically my whole mission talking about the temple, it’s finally open. The temple dedication was so awesome. Everyone felt the spirit so strong. The coolest part was that A*** could go. The picture of me and my comp outside the building is us at the temple dedication. So great!

What an awesome week. I have felt like a crazy headache all week from just feeling the spirit so much! I’m so lucky to have such an awesome companion and an awesome mission! Man it’s the best. My testimony was definitely strengthened and I definitely felt the love of the lord this week.

I hope you guys have an awesome week! I miss you tons!

Week #49 – Back In The Groove – December 7th, 2015

HEY EVERYONE, what an awesome week! We are so blessed here in the Mexico Tijuana Mission. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BRADY!!! He is the best brother in the world. I hope he knows I love him and hope he grows up to be a worthy priesthood holder.

So much happened this week and we had so many spiritual experiences for me and my companion. The Lord answers prayers immediately for his missionaries. We had so many blessings and answers to little things I could make a list! But man so many blessings this week.

For starters we are going to baptize this week!! It was soooo amazing what happened. SOOOO their’s this girl, her name is An**, she went to the temple two times with us and loved it! Only problem, she lived in another ward boundaries. She started coming to church with her friend and loved the church and the ward, and us too, but she lived in the other ward. So we passed the reference to the other missionaries and kept working. We have been praying a ton and especially this week that we could baptize in December. We were praying like crazy. We actually set the goal to contact and knock more doors, and invite one person every day to be baptized. Like we couldn’t go back to the house until we did it. And we started that Monday. Monday night, we set a baptism date, Tuesday night, three more baptism dates and Wednesday we found out that An** CHANGED HOUSES AND LIVES IN OUR SECTOR!!! Like what?! Such a blessing. So there was another baptism date we set. Just so many blessings. We then went out and put another baptism date every day except one. We’re working so hard. I was dying the whole week, but wow so many blessings.

An** is so awesome though. She is fourteen years old and has a rough family life. She really wants to change her life and have a future family like the families she has seen in the church. It will be a great blessing to see her be baptized and start the journey as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

We saw a ton of miracles this week as we prayed with faith. Its been amazing to be out here on the mission and see the lords hand in the work and see how he uses everyone to bring to pass the salvation of his sons and daughters. So glad to be apart of it all.

Its been pretty hot again and something kind of weird, the mission offices called me to tell me I have to renew my visa. HA that means I’m about to finish a year here in Mexico. How crazy. Time flies. I’m excited for the next year to come and to keep working hard.

I miss and love you guys so much! Hope you guys have an awesome week!

Hahah I honestly woke up and didn’t remember it was Thanksgiving until lunch when some members asked me if we were going to do anything! Hahaha it was just a normal day of work down here in Rosarito. Nothing too special.

We did get the chance to go to the temple this week SEVEN times. It was so great! I was so happy and wanted to go even more but we didn’t have investigators who wanted to keep going!! Every time I went, I saw and felt something different. I can’t imagine how it’s going to be when it’s dedicated. It’s really an amazing temple. I’m going to love this place forever.

Yesterday we got the chance to go in with the Presidente before everyone else. We got a special tour with just him and the misarneros here in TJ. We went through in groups of about ten and we were the only ones!!! Wow, it was soooo special. We felt a powerful spirit. We heard inspiring words as we walked through the perfect halls of the newly built temple. It was an experience I will never forget.

Our investigators are coming to church and are slowly progressing. There should be some baptisms here soon but we will see what happens. I really want to baptize with Elder Bracho, to get him started off on a good experience, but we are struggling to find people who want to progress.

I’m so thankful for you guys!!! Thanksgiving night I was thinking about the family and was just thinking about how blessed we are! I’m so lucky to be a member of this amazing church! I’m so blessed to be here in the best mission in the world 😉 Loving everything here! Thanks for everything! Talk to you guys soon!!!
